April 25th Rebuilding Day Each year in April, The Gracy Team sponsors a home for Rebuilding America. The Organization helps people in need (mostly elderly, disabled people, veterans, or people who are dying) with things like basic home repairs, yard work, building ramps for wheelchair bound people, and planting trees and flowers. We are asking for volunteers for April 25th to help us, the more hands the better. If you would like to help us with this wonderful project please let me know by email at charles@gracyteam.com. We had a wonderful time last year and our ages ranged from 3 - 77 so please come and help out!On National Rebuilding Day volunteers join local affiliate leaders to repair and restore houses and non-profit facilities, revitalizing entire communities and making a lasting impression on the families who are served. For many volunteers, it leaves them with the experiences of helping their neighbors in need, which brings them back year after year.
Last year this was the home we worked on.
Volunteers from will help renovate the homes of Richard and Marjorie Roy of Haverhill and Diane and Dennis McNamara of Merrimac, Mass. The project is part of Heroes at Homesm a partnership between Rebuilding Together and Sears Holdings Corporation. Heroes at Homesm, is a program grant that seeks to improve the lives of military families in need across America by making necessary repairs, improvements or modifications to their homes. Most of the work will be done on National Rebuilding Day, Saturday, April 26th along with other Rebuilding Day projects that more than 400 volunteers participate in annually.
Rebuilding Together Veterans Housing Initiative was created to meet the growing needs of veterans from past and present wars. The initiative serves to fill the gaps in housing modifications and repair services that retired and active service men and women struggle to meet, often providing handicap modifications for veterans wounded in service to our country.
